Terms & Conditions

Summary of terms: The PDI is expected to provide 48 hours notice of cancellation, or full payment for the training session may be taken.
Should the trainer be unable to provide 48 hours notice before cancelling a training session, then any loss of earnings will be reimbursed up to the cost of the number of hours of the training booked on that day.

If the PDI chooses to use the trainers car for the test of driving ability (Part 2) or instruction ability (Part 3) and if the trainer feels they are not up to the required standard, the trainer will give them enough time to change the date of the test without losing any of the test fees payable to the DVSA.

If the PDI refuses to follow the guidance of the trainer, then the trainer will be entitled to withdraw the use of the car.

The trainer will not be responsible for any fees which are lost as a result.

The PDI should arrive for training sessions in a fit and well state to drive.

If for any reason, the trainer suspects the PDI is under the influence of drink or drugs or is in any way unfit to drive, the training session will be cancelled and the full payment for that training session will be due to the trainer. The PDI must inform the trainer of any prescribed medications they are taking which may affect their driving ability.

Payments for training sessions should be made on the day of the training session, either by cash or bank transfer.

The PDI is responsible for booking their own tests and for checking the details of the test on their DVSA email.

The PDI must inform the trainer of the test date, time and location when it is booked.

Failure to do so may result in the trainer’s car being unavailable for the test.

The PDI must bring all their required documents to their DVSA tests. If a PDI fails to bring the necessary documents, leading to the test being cancelled, payment for the trainer’s time will still be due.

If a DVSA test is terminated due to an issue with eyesight or documents, payment for the trainer’s time will still be due.

If the PDI’s DVSA test is cancelled by the DVSA giving the PDI insufficient time to provide the trainer with the required cancellation notice of 48 hours, then the payment for the trainer’s time will still be due. You may be able to claim compensation for this fee from the DVSA.

The trainer reserves the right to increase their fees at any time.If the PDI is using their own car, and the car is not in a roadworthy condition, for eg, seatbelts in the rear not working, front or rear washers not working, or illegal tyres etc, the trainer will offer guidance, but has the right to refuse to commence training and refuse to take the PDI to test in that car.

The trainer has the right to terminate the PDI’s training if they feel the PDI’s conduct or commitment falls below the standard the trainer reasonably expects. In the event of a complaint, the trainer will make every effort to resolve the problem directly. Please advise the trainer of any issues as early as possible to allow for a satisfactory solution to be found.
